Journal Writing Workshop – Online

A Fresh Approach to Journaling

Starts Feb 6th. Space is limited. Register by Jan 30th.

A new year is upon us. Perhaps you resolved to start a journal and now you’re regretting it or wondering how to get started; or if you did get started, how to keep going. If the idea of journaling makes you feel tired or irritable, then it’s time for a change!

This workshop, facilitated by Ellen Szabo, is designed to inspire and support your experience. Writing can be a solitary endeavor, which is why it’s so important to create community with other writers with whom we can share our ideas, interests, and challenges.

You will be encouraged to think about journaling in a new way; not as an obligation, but as an opportunity. It’s not how often or how much you write, it’s how you feel about the writing that makes the difference.

No, we won’t be reading the content of your journals.

We will have discussions sparked by powerpoint presentations that explore topics such as:

  • how do I write when I’m worried about who will read this?
  • breaking the rules: going beyond words
  • how stories help us to make sense of our lives
  • finding inspiration in surprising places
  • ‘follow the yellow brick road’
  • writing to feel better

You’ll receive an optional writing prompt before each session.
