Content editing, also known as developmental editing, attends to the overall content, clarity, effectiveness and development of your project, from book length to shorter pieces such as essays or short stories.

When I work with you, I will combine intuitive, incisive feedback with direction and practical tools to assist you in your process. We will begin with a consultation to discuss your needs and vision and from that, develop an individualized plan. Depending upon your needs, I can provide an in depth or summary assessment of the writing that addresses such aspects as content, structure, narrative voice, characters, themes, relevance and impact of material and message.

After the review, I provide recommendations and strategies for revisions to maximize content and impact – this can be provided in notations in the text as well as a separate document with summary or in depth comments, followed by a 60 to 90 minute consultation.

This initial evaluation can provide foundation for future coaching and content strategies for your project.
